Steg-Haus in Braunschweig

The experience is not up to date, it was in the summer of 2020. It was one of the worst restaurant visits of our life. - Waited 1h until the starter came - Wait another 1 hour for the main course - Been there in total for 2.5 hours - Main course was announced that it was going out NOW - not true at all. - A table was reserved for 5 people, although many places were free, we only got a table for 4 with a side chair, very tight - Was reserved with the wish to celebrate a 50th birthday - it doesn't matter. You could have decorated it minimally with a little good will. - Because of Corona, we urgently asked to ring the doorbell at the entrance and wait for collection. Rang 3 times, nothing happened. All employees are on the terrace, they don't care about the bell at all. So in the end you just go through it yourself. - When the main course came, the fries were cold and limp. - The quality of the food itself was at the lower end of the scale, not at all appropriate for the price. - Boss was not there on Sunday evening, had to be called constantly to clarify the difficulties - Pillows and blankets were wet. Although it was clear that it was raining, no one cleared it away.

Very courteous staff, good service. The menu offers something for everyone and the ambience invites you to relax.

The waiters are always very sociable and very obliging. That makes me very happy every time I visit. I can say that nothing has broken us until now! It was a taste explosion in my mouth every time, the seats were perfectly cleaned and the armchairs were particularly comfortable. I haven't been so fascinated by a restaurant for a long time.

The ambience is good, the staff is friendly and some of the food is delicious, but I think the prices are a bit excessive. 17 euros for a MiniBurger with a handful of french fries is a bit much. Especially because I paid 3 euros more for sweet potato fries, the disappointment was great. The sweet potatoes were also more mushy than crispy.

Our experience today has been consistently positive. In addition to the very friendly and attentive service, the dishes were also of the highest quality. So already one of our favorites in Braunschweig. We'll be back.

A really great restaurant! If someone should order a table there, definitely mention that they want to go to the wine cellar. It's really cozy there. Absolute recommendation from me, 5 stars

Service was great, the staff very friendly and efficient. Every wish is fulfilled ... the food is more than delicious ... again and again ... the location is fantastic, in the city but in the middle of nature ... parking spaces nearby.

The food was actually quite delicious. The waitress was also very nice and always asked if she could do something for us. But what is not great is the price. Paying a lot of money for such a small portion is a bit stupid. I wasn't fed up with it, for example

We were invited there. I like to look at the reviews beforehand, but that never stops me from forming my own subjective opinion. And I think I'm not just speaking for myself, but everyone at our table: It was perfect from A-Z !! The service was friendly and fast, and the "walking" wine list was particularly fun. ??? The food is perfect, meat fried to the point, imaginative side dishes, fresh bread. Super!! We'd love to come back!

So here price and performance are absolutely disproportionate. Burger dry risotto totally messed up. Only the ambience is right here. There are certainly better locations in Braunschweig.

Great location, we sat right on the water, a great Mediterranean meal, the passing kayaks serenaded the bride and groom .. Then there was a raft trip with coffee and cake, which was also fantastic

We had a long time ahead of us to go to Steghaus. We noticed it on a boat tour. Now the time had come ... The ambience outside and inside is elegant but still open-hearted, as is the service. We sat at a beautifully laid table in a smaller anteroom. The steak we wanted was spot on and just delicious. Rarely have I eaten such a good steak !! With a delicious Bayreuth beer ... next time the wine list will be tested. We are already looking forward to it!

Wait 2 hours for a tapa plate !!! Apart from this: Horrible service: the plate ordered after waiting two hours was not what we ordered. Then they did not want to give us any pillows, although there were some in some free seats. Request a corridor between us and the chairs. Generally no understanding / apology from the staff. Overpriced: € 16 for 2/8 mediocre wine broken inventory: the back of the chair has collapsed.

We went to Steghaus for the first time yesterday evening - the location and interior design create a nice ambience, the service was friendly, but everyone seemed extremely stressed. Apparently there was an event on the terrace last night, so that there were always crowds in front of our table and our seat seemed unhappy. The door to the terrace was open so that we sat in the wind. The mask requirement was not observed by some guests, which unfortunately was not even addressed by the condition. If the requirements of the BMG are dealt with in this way, I just hope that things will be different in the kitchen. The food was okay, but absolutely not recommendable considering the prices. Therefore unfortunately only 2 ⭐️

The Steghaus in Braunschweig is a highly recommended restaurant. The location is beautiful with a view of the river and the kitchen is top quality. I really like coming here.

We have been there twice now and will be back again. The service tries hard, the wine selection and quality are good. The food varies widely between sufficient and very good. Therefore only four stars for now.

The restaurant really has the potential to become my next regular restaurant. The food was not the only thing that caused big eyes in this inn! I really like trying new restaurants and I am constantly looking for new restaurants, but I will remain loyal to this inn. The waitresses are always very striving and always courteous! The decorations on the tables and in the entire restaurant are appropriate and tasteful. The toilets are always clean and all in all the restaurant gives a good impression.

Super ambience right down by the water. The restaurant is decorated with attention to detail. In our view, the point deduction is for the price / performance ratio. The waiters did not know their own menu or could not explain what was in the drinks. In addition, the food is an idea too expensive for the cooking quality. But it was delicious. Next time we might try the burger or steak :-)

Extremely well placed restaurant, with a stunning view on the river below, this hidden gem of Braunschweig should definitely be visited on the warm summer evenings. The only reason it gets 4 stars and not 5 is that the serving took quite a long time (not their fault, they had to go up and down the stairs a lot)

Food was delicious, it took a while to prepare it but im sure it was because we were around 70 people there.

Very nice and fancy location! The food is good, we had tapas and the Phils Beer which was really tasty! The price is ok if take into consideration that you pay for the service etc as well.
